Hayes brings an impressive 30+ year track record of success in the insurance industry, having consistently delivered high-impact results at some of the nation’s leading organizations. Most recently, Hayes served as National Sales & Growth Leader, Employee Benefits at McGriff, a Top 10 national brokerage firm. There, he spearheaded the formation of a dominant sales force, achieving a remarkable $120 million in new business within just five years. This accomplishment stands as a testament to Hayes’s exceptional leadership and strategic acumen.
Prior to McGriff, Hayes held the position of National Practice Leader, Employee Benefits at Regions Insurance Group, a $140 million brokerage firm. Creating the line of business leadership team and strategy, Hayes oversaw a geographically expansive employee benefits practice with 35 offices across 10 states. Under his leadership, the practice doubled in size and generated over $20 million in additional revenue within a five-year period, ultimately positioning it as a highly attractive acquisition target.
In addition, at Rebsamen Insurance, the largest insurance agency of its kind in Arkansas, Hayes served as State EB Leader/Producer. There, he successfully implemented a turnaround strategy, including revamping compensation plans and attracting high-potential talent. Notably, his foresight in nationalizing the agency’s independent brokerages following the Affordable Care Act proved instrumental in driving unprecedented growth.
Now, in his new role here at Liberty, Hayes will collaborate closely with Liberty’s leadership team to develop and execute strategies for driving double-digit organic growth, acquiring employee benefits firms, and attracting top talent, further solidifying the organization’s position as a leading force in the industry. His commitment to excellence and his comprehensive understanding of the insurance landscape makes him an invaluable addition to the team.
